How to Reactivate/ Renew Your MGA Membership & Handicap (GHIN)

This article explains how to activate or reactivate your MGA membership & handicap

To reactivate your MGA Membership, either renew online through an MGA eClub or participating public club (entering your GHIN and email and completing payment) or ask the club you play with to add/reactivate your existing GHIN number. Once the same GHIN number is renewed or added by a club, the account will reactivate and you will be able to access the MyMGA app.

Renew online through an MGA eClub or a participating public club.

  • Visit the MGA membership page to join or renew: https://mgagolf.org/membership/join-the-mga/
  • Enter your GHIN number and email address; you will receive an email confirming your subscription.
  • After you verify your account information and complete payment, your account will reactivate.
  • Contact the club you play with (or a new club) and ask their staff to add or reactivate your existing GHIN number.
  • If a club deactivated your handicap membership, that club can reactivate it for you once they update their records.

Online Join/Renew
  • Go to the MGA membership page: https://mgagolf.org/membership/join-the-mga/
  • Select an MGA eClub or a participating public club.
  • Enter your GHIN number and the email address associated with your account.
  • Complete the verification prompts and payment.
  • You will receive a confirmation email from the MGA. Once payment and verification are complete, your GHIN account will reactivate and you will be able to log into the MyMGA mobile app.

Reactivate through a club - Step-by-step:

  • Contact the club where you currently play (or the new club you joined).
  • Ask club staff to add or reactivate your existing GHIN number on their roster.
  • Once the club adds/reactivates your GHIN, your MGA profile and membership status will update.

Additional notes

  • Public clubs may offer lower online renewal rates; example ranges stated were $40–$80 for public clubs.
  • Memberships tied to time-limited promotions will expire when the promotion ends; renewing after expiration restores active status.
  • An active membership is required to log into the MyMGA mobile app.

  • Troubleshooting tips
  • If you changed clubs and your account shows inactive, have your new club add your existing GHIN number.
  • If a club deactivated your membership, contact that club’s staff to request reactivation or renew online using the same GHIN number.
After renewing, check your email for the MGA confirmation message to ensure the renewal completed successfully.
