Withdraw Classification Policy

WD (“Withdraw”)

If a player “Withdraws” after they have begun the competition for obvious, observable, and/or verifiable reasons, he or she will be listed as ‘WD’. Examples would include circumstances requiring medical attention, such as: bee stings, an asthma attack, cuts/lacerations, feeling feverish/ faint or nauseous, etc.

Please note: Some ‘WD’s’ may come with at least one score (e.g. a 36-hole qualifier in which a player completes play of the first round but not the second round).

NS (“No Show”)

If a player fails to show up for an event without informing the Championship Department, he or she will be listed as ‘NS’. If a player doesn’t show, but gives proper notice, they will be listed as NS.

DNF (“Did Not Finish”)

If a player does not complete a round or exits a tournament for no stated reason or for reasons such as: “I’m going to miss my plane” or “I got called into work”; or for injuries such as: hurt wrists, sprained neck, bad back, etc., they will not be considered ‘WD’, but will be more appropriately listed as DNF.

DNS (“Did Not Start”)

If tee times are delayed and a player exits a tournament because they have to “travel” or “get to work”, the player will be listed as DNS’.

NC (“No Card”)

If a player completes a round and, for various reasons, does not turn in their score card, the player will be listed as NC.

*A Completed round is a round played under the Rules of Golf, in which the player has holed out on all 18 holes.
